We Are BSA Troop #537
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
With over 70 active scouts, our objective for our troop activities is to be planned, organized and run by the Scouts. The Scout experience is up to you – whether the interest is skills development, camping/activities/service, rank advancement to Eagle, or all of the above. 56 of our scouts have earned Eagle Scout since 1992.
Troop 537, representing boys in fifth through twelfth grade, is sponsored by Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community. The Boy Scouts meet on Monday evenings at Holy Name of Jesus. The troop leadership is mainly done by the scouts.
For more information about the troop, please contact:
- Scoutmaster: Vikas Puri – vspuri@yahoo.com
- Committee Chair: Todd Wenck – Twenck@wenck.com
The scouts plan and enjoy:
- Monthly camping (year-round)
- Special events (bike trips, sporting events, etc)
- Advancement and merit badges
- High Adventure camps
- Court of Honor
- Community service projects (Feed my Starving Children, IOCP Sleep Out, Adopt a Trail, etc.).
